We're Not Your Typical Firm

Connecting Spaces, Transforming Lives

How We Got Here

Look, we didn't start out planning to change Toronto's architectural landscape. It kinda just happened. Back in 2011, a few of us were sitting in a cramped office above a coffee shop on Queen West, frustrated with how most firms were approaching urban design - all flash, no substance, zero consideration for how people actually live.

We figured there had to be a better way. Something that didn't sacrifice livability for aesthetics, or ignore environmental impact because it was "too complicated." Turns out we weren't alone in thinking that.

Fast forward to now - we've worked on everything from tiny residential renovations to major commercial developments across the GTA. What hasn't changed? Our belief that good architecture should make people's lives genuinely better, not just look impressive in a portfolio.

What Drives Us

Philosophy's a big word, but here's what matters to us

Real Sustainability

Not just slapping solar panels on stuff and calling it green. We're talking lifecycle thinking, material sourcing, energy modeling - the whole deal. Because our kids are gonna inherit what we build today.

People First

Buildings exist for humans, not the other way around. We spend time understanding how you actually use spaces - not how we think you should. Your daily routine matters more than our ego.

Context Matters

Every site has a story - the neighborhood, the history, the people around it. We're not interested in copy-pasting designs. What works in Liberty Village won't work in Leslieville.

Honest Collaboration

We'll tell you when your idea won't work - but we'll also explain why and offer alternatives. No jargon, no runaround. You're investing serious money, you deserve straight talk.

The Team

Meet the folks who make it happen

Lead Architect

Sarah Chen

Principal Architect

Started her career at a big downtown firm, got tired of designing soulless glass towers. Now she's leading projects that actually respond to Toronto's changing neighborhoods. Obsessed with passive house design and won't shut up about thermal bridging.

Urban Planning Director

Marcus Davidson

Urban Planning Director

Spent years navigating city hall red tape so you don't have to. If there's a zoning bylaw, he's read it twice. Believes good urban planning shouldn't feel like planning at all - it should just work.

Sustainability Lead

Priya Kapoor

Sustainability Lead

Environmental engineer turned architectural consultant. Runs the numbers on every project to prove sustainable choices aren't just ethical - they're economically smart. Has somehow made embodied carbon calculations exciting.

Interior Design Lead

James Kowalski

Interior Design Lead

Former contractor who got sick of fixing other designers' impossible-to-build ideas. Bridges the gap between beautiful concepts and actual construction. Your contractor will thank you.

Project Manager

Elena Rodriguez

Senior Project Manager

The one who actually keeps everything on track while the rest of us get lost in design details. Scary-good at timeline management. If she says it'll be done Thursday, it'll be done Thursday.

Heritage Specialist

Thomas Brierley

Heritage Consultant

History buff who can spot a Queen Anne detail from a block away. Specializes in bringing old buildings into the 21st century without destroying what made them special in the first place. Has strong opinions about window replacements.

Want to Work With Us?

We're always up for interesting projects. Whether you're planning a residential renovation, commercial development, or something we haven't done before - let's talk. No project's too weird, and honest conversations don't cost anything.

Fair warning though: we're gonna ask a lot of questions about how you actually live and work. That's just how we operate.
